A few easy steps to comprehensive site structure

There are always a few things we should take care of when building a new website. Things that amateurs and even webmasters would forget sometimes because it's so natural that we miss it.
As when you build a site you may not be able to do it all at once it may happen that you forget to link the new section of pages that you are newly building from your main page. You may do your best to try to optimize your site and when building a nice and superb top navigation with great javascript navigation between each sections, forget that all pages from this nav won't be crawled at all...
This is a small reminder of what you should do to avoid forgetting such natural things :

- Create a site map : this site map should be using text link preferably with a small description and if your site is a large sized one use a link in your footer that refers to this sitemap so that each single page of your site links to this sitemap, it helps a lot for SEO as for visitors to find the information needed
- Use a very simple navigation and really visible : simple navigations are always really effective and helps people find what they are there for quickly.
- Hunt missing pages and broken links : you'll avoid bothering your visitors and they'll really think your site is unprofessionnal if it happens.
- Be regular in your site design and always follow a pre-defined guideline.
- Include a search option if you can it will help a lot, the more information you display the more you'll need this option to be set on your web site.
- Be sure people can contact you and that all contact forms are working properly.
